Turn your stand mixer into a grain grinder in seconds with the Mockmill grain mill!
The powerful little stone mill that has captured the
imagination of bread-lovers and indeed the whole baking community and is recommended by professional bakers and chefs. With the Mockmill docked
easily and neatly onto your stand mixer, you can now quickly and
affordably produce silky to textured flour from any of a whole range of
grains and legumes, and even mill your dry spices. You get the pleasures
and benefits of nature's good grains, milled when you need them!
The Mockmill grain mill attaches to KitchenAid and AEG stand mixers and adjusts to grind grain at the exact
texture desired, from remarkably fine flour to coarse meal (just cracked
if you’d like). Its patented corundum-ceramic grinding stones are self
sharpening and require no maintenance. Cleaning the Mockmill is simple and quick; the mill retains very
little flour when finished, and accessing the milling chamber takes just
a moment and requires no tools. Enhance your cookies, cakes, breads and more with the wonderful flavor
and superior nutrition of freshly ground flour.
All dry grains can be ground with the Mockmill, including soft or
hard wheat, oat groats (dehulled oats), rice, triticale, kamut, spelt,
buckwheat, barley, rye, millet, teff, quinoa, amaranth, sorghum and dent
(field) corn. It will also grind lentils, dry beans (pinto, red,
garbanzo, kidney & more), and dried, non-oily spices. It isn't
suitable for herbs, oilseeds like flax or sesame, popcorn, or fibrous
(field) corn and soybeans can be ground to any texture from
cracked to meal to very fine flour. For these very large-kerneled
grains, grind first with the stones opened widely to produce cracked
grain, then a second time if you want flour. If you want to grind oat
groats open the stones further, otherwise the soft oat flour will fill
the stones' furrows and
in-feeding will stop. Opening the stones further will give you a cereal
grind for porridge, or coarser yet for cracked oats, similar to
The highest quality standards paired with European artisan
manufacturing deliver a superior product with outstanding design and
craftsmanship, and the product carries a two year warranty. The Mockmill
represents thirty years of grain milling experience and innovation by
leading designer Wolfgang Mock. When set at the finest milling setting, the flour feels as fine as what
you get at the finest setting on the KoMo mills.
At full speed the mill will operate at about 70% of the output of the KoMo
Fidibus mill which puts it at about 2.4 ounces/minute. Also at full speed, it
will not heat the flour to more than about 105 degrees Fahrenheit, well below
the level where flour can be damaged.
The stones are self sharpening and designed to last for decades. It’s easy
to disassemble for cleaning if needed. When tasked with “killing” (burning out)
the standard size KitchenAid mixers, Mockmill engineers were unable to so. The
mill is specifically designed to not put excessive load on the mixer. Even
milling nearly 50 lbs of grain continuously over a 6 hour span resulted in only
a few degree above normal rise in temperature of the KitchenAid mixer.
Fits all KitchenAid and AEG models in the U.S. / Canada. Mixer not included.
Note: The Mockmill grain mill does not fit the Ankarsrum stand mixer.
